The communities really came through in supporting their players. We’re looking forward to the competitions, and to seeing where their dreams take them in the long run.”

The final three roster spots in each contest were filled via Facebook fan voting. The Facebook campaign featured 48 high school seniors – 16 competitors in each category – who uploaded YouTube videos to the official Facebook page and were then hand-selected as bracket contestants. Each week for four weeks, the contestants competed in a bracket-style knockout competition. Half the field advanced to the next round after a week of voting until, ultimately, the dunker, boy’s 3-point shooter and girl’s 3-point shooter with the most votes remained. These fan-selected contestants will test their skills against some of the nation’s top college recruits. To find out more about the Facebook competition, visit: facebook.com/HighSchoolSlam.

The celebrity judges’ panel for the American Family Insurance Slam Dunk Contest will include: current New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas; CBS Sports college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman; current LSU defensive tackle and Second Team All-SEC selection Michael Brockers; plus two of college basketball brightest stars in Michigan State’s Draymond Green and Missouri’s Marcus Denmon, both of whom are finalists for the 2012 John R. Wooden Award.

Alumni of the event include Oklahoma State’s Cezar Guerrero, Texas’ Sheldon McClellan, Connecticut’s DeAndre Daniels and Wake Forest’s Chase Fischer.
